Middle School Sweethearts
When Wanda, Matron of Honor and older sister, contacted me to shoot Alex and Kellie’s wedding, I knew I had to add this wedding to my Panhandle tour! The entire ceremony was quaint, charming and sweet. Most of all, it was picturesque. Alex and Kellie are middle school sweethearts, which in this day and age is extremely rare! Alex is also getting ready to leave for Air Force Basic Military Training in a few weeks, so I was even more on board to shoot this event in their lives.
Over 10pm phone calls and 1,400 miles between us, we discussed the details and plans for their outdoor wedding at Fred Astaire. Fred Astaire is a quaint dance studio adorned with a gorgeous staircase and moody brick walls. Of course, Florida had other plans, as it rained and stormed just hours before their ceremony. Just as they finished bringing the wedding indoors, the caterer was nowhere to be found. Needless to say, things didn’t go as planned but you would never have guessed because in the end, everything was flawless.
Photographing these two was in a word, effortless. They exuded love, excitement and grace for one another and it shows in their portraits! It was a pleasure working with the entire bridal party and I wish these two nothing but the best moving forward.
